Friendship- Luxury of Being
Today I am feeling a bit nostalgic. Well, I am a Pisces and dreaming is what we do best ;) so that is not new. So today's topic my brain chose to be nostalgic about is my friends. Oh boy, what a bunch we are. I have been really lucky in this department. I mean really lucky. See, I am a very lazy person, unless and until I am driven by divine force, I rarely pick up the phone to talk to anybody, it feels like such a hassle to me and everybody in my circle, family and friends alike, know this thing about me, but still most of them choose to stay connected with me while making all the effort. I mean its masterstroke of luck or what, right?
From every phase of my life, I got the chance of befriending some wonderful people. Be they are from school times or college times or from professional life who filtered down to become an essential part of life, they have enriched my life in so many ways that I can't even describe it.
We had shared so many ups and downs in each other lives that the criteria that the world seems to weigh relationships has become frivolous for us. We had our fights, misunderstandings, mischiefs, adventures, inside jokes, falling outs and all, but what glued us together was the trust that no matter what has been said or done everything will turn out to be ok in the end, that no bridge will ever burn and there will always be a chance to go back and make amend.
A friend is the true luxury of life because they let you be what you really are. There is no pretense no restrictions no nothing. You are you and they are they.
There come times when storms of our personal lives cloud our minds and heart such that we forget to see what a silver lining that friend is. Let's be realistic there had been times when we have to face our hardest battles feeling alone when this true friend was occupied elsewhere. But before blaming or blacklisting your this age-old friend shouldn't we stop and think for a second that the person you are about to put away from your life is the same one who had stood with you through thick and thin. This is the same person who had to hold your hand and cried your tears from their eyes. Can you afford to lose this gem?
With the risk of repeating myself, I would say again Friends are the true luxury of life. Everything comes and goes. As we grow everybody gets busy with their lives, kids, house, jobs etc. but the remembrance of these friends in the corner of our heart does make the grind of life bearable. doesn't it?
KK has said it better.

Do let me know your nostalgic moment with your friends.
Friendship is the only relationship where we can be our ourselves. We do not need any masks to hide our true selves.
ReplyDeleteMy memories with my friends have been amazing, but the most important part, i know though v dont talk on regular basis, we will always be friends, no pretences.
